My NASCAR Christmas Gift List

by Jim on December 24, 2009 · 4 comments

Today, I am going to play Santa for NASCAR nation. Heck, why not? I am beginning to resemble him more and more every year.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Let’s see what we have here in my bag…..

For Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Marcos Ambrose and David Reutimann- here’s some more progress for 2010.

For Dale Earnhardt Jr.- a shiny, new batch of confidence, guaranteed to work wonders.

For the Richard Childress gang- here’s your mojo.

For Mark Martin- this is the trophy you always wanted. Yep, that really is your name on it.

For Bobby Labonte, Joe Nemechek, and the other “Start and Parks”- how about a little tire money, so you can finish the races?

To Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski- an olive branch for you two. Don’t go poking each other in the eye with it.

To Jeff Gordon- you’ve been very patient. This is three wins, enough to launch you into third place on the all-time victory list.

For the drivers of Roush Fenway Racing- this is the speed you were missing in 2009. This ought to get you some wins in 2010.

To Martin Truex Jr. and Jamie Mc Murray- here’s a nice scent of fresh start to get you going with your new teams.

To Juan Pablo Montoya- here’s a victory on an oval. For Boris Said- here’s a road course victory.

Hey Tony Stewart! For you, here’s some staying power. Don’t open it until the Chase.

To Kyle Busch- there were those who wanted me to give you a lump of coal. For you, here’s an amplifier and a guitar stand, because guitars aren’t for smashing.

Hey Kyle, if it’s o.k., can some fans borrow your amp? Some are fearful that the powers that be in NASCAR can’t hear them. They promise to give it back when they’re done ;)

To Danica Patrick- here’s an extra strength bumper. Now you go easy on those boys out there, you hear?

To Jimmie Johnson- a little more love from NASCAR nation.

For the contributors of Bump Drafts: Jackie, Jeremy, Patrick and John…Season’s Greetings and gratitude in my attitude for what you bring to this blog.

For the readers of Bump Drafts: Blessings for your participation and making this fun. You are the life blood of this humble operation.

For my inspiration, my family: My heartfelt thanks.

For my Father in Heaven (the Almighty One): Thanks for giving the best gift of all. Thanks for life and eternal life, thanks to the life and sacrifice of your son.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! Be sure to check in as we start a special series on “The King”- Richard Petty.

For “Spin Cycle Sam” Hornish, a sponsorship from Maytag or Whirlpool.

For Fearless Leader, Brain Farze, a trip to see the Wizard of Oz for a brain, courage, a heart, and a mirror to open his eyes as to what’s wrong with the sport.

For Jabber Jaws in the Faux broadcast booth, a gag so we fans can enjoy the race.

For Kelley Earnhardt, some testicular fortitude to get back behind the wheel and show which Earnhardt really has the driving talent.

For “Milk and Donuts”, Leilani Munter, and Alli Owens, a 1-2-3 finish in the ARCA race at Daytona.

For Jim, Dawg, and the rest of the Bump Drafts crew, a healthy and prosperous 2010.

@Mad Man- back atchta. You’re a straight shooter and I appreciate it. Every nation needs a curmudgeon at large.
